Coffee Hour with Professor Danna Freedman

On Thursday, April 8th, WIC+ invited Professor Danna Freedman for a virtual coffee hour via zoom. Professor Freedman is currently a professor at Northwestern and will be joining the MIT chemistry department this summer in the inorganic division. During the coffee hour, Professor Freedman shared her early experiences in science and research, which influenced her to become a professor, her experiences as a professor at Northwestern, and why she’s excited to return to the MIT community. WIC+ would to thank Professor Freedman for taking the time to share her perspective within academia and give advice for future scientists. We look forward to seeing her and her group members in-person (hopefully) this upcoming fall!

Women+ in Chemistry (WIC+) is a group that uses the lens of gender to guide its support of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the Department of Chemistry. Our mission is to foster a sense of community in the department, facilitate connections with the greater community, support the professional development of department members, and advocate for people of all genders and for gender diversity in the department and the entire chemistry community.
